I was a new labor and delivery nurse when I had my sixth and final baby. He was my second VBAC, and I felt very confident everything would go smoothly!
The night I went in to labor, I was immediately in so much pain. Each contraction felt like my pelvis was going to split in two. We made our way to the birth center and found out I was six centimeters and baby was malpositioned. I begged someone to show me how to get him to turn, but no one knew how to help me! It was so defeating and so painful that I ended up getting an epidural, which I didn’t want (nor did I need before!) but even the epidural didn’t take away the pain of his malpositioned head grinding in my pelvis.
A year later, I took my first Spinning Babies® class and my life was changed. I finally had the tools to help women intuitively move their bodies to create more space for their babies!
Since then, I have taken countless courses and workshops, all to hone my craft as a birth worker and help my patients and clients feel empowered, confident, and comfortable in their pregnancy and labor.
Recently, I attended a Spinning Babies® Parent Educator workshop so I can share these invaluable tools with pregnant women and their support person so they can be in charge of their birth, find balance, intuitively listen to their bodies and move to create more space where it’s needed!
Birth Preparation Class
Spinning Babies® Birth Preparation Class is taught in a group setting and is available to pregnant women in their second trimester and beyond, and one support person. Classes take roughly three hours, and you will walk away more knowledgeable and empowered, equipped with the tools restore balance to your pregnant body and to birth with comfort and ease! Classes are offered on a once-monthly basis. See calendar for availability. You can email me at erin@thebreastplaceso.com or call (541)851-1639 for sign up or additional questions.
Spinning Babies® Aware Practitioner
Did I mention I’ve taken all the Spinning Babies® workshops? Because I sure have! I’ve been an Aware Practitioner since 2022 and am trained to provide gentle touch to relax and restore balance to the muscles, ligaments, and fascia that support the pelvis. This can be particularly helpful if your baby is in a breech position! Sometimes a tight ligament is all that is preventing baby from having the space to turn. Private appointments are available. Message me at erin@thebreastplaceso.com or call (541)851-1639 for scheduling information.
