Hi, I’m Erin—Certified Nurse Midwife , IBCLC, birth educator, and founder of The Breast Place of Southern Oregon Lactation Services. My husband Mike and I started this practice in 2024 with a simple goal: to create the kind of support we believe every family deserves—warm, evidence-based, personalized care during pregnancy, postpartum, and infant feeding.
I’ve been a nurse since 2012 and have worked in labor and delivery since 2017. Over the years, I found myself especially drawn to postpartum care: sitting with new parents, answering questions, easing fears, and helping families feel confident during one of life’s biggest transitions. That passion eventually led me to become an IBCLC and later pursue midwifery, allowing me to care for women more holistically throughout pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and beyond.
As both a mother of six and a healthcare provider, I understand that no two journeys into parenthood look the same. After a difficult birth experience with my youngest child, I became deeply interested in physiologic birth, body balancing, Spinning Babies®, and ways to help women feel more supported and empowered in labor and postpartum recovery. My work experiences in different hospitals and birth centers have continued to shape my approach to care.
At The Breast Place, my goal is to provide a cozy, supportive environment where families feel heard, respected, and genuinely cared for. I support families through prenatal feeding preparation, latch and milk supply concerns, pumping and return-to-work planning, infant weight gain concerns, breast infections, oral restrictions, weaning, and more. I also believe strongly in informed decision-making and collaborative care—helping parents understand their options so they can make the choices that feel right for their family.
More than anything, I want women to feel safe, supported, educated, and empowered. It’s an honor to walk alongside families during such an important season of life, and I’m so glad you’re here. 🩷
